Mother's Day 2013

flowers from my crafty Kate
(made from coffee filters and pipe cleaners, decorated with markers.)

I also got a beautiful card and handmade bracelet from Tess and a picture card from Jane that said she loves me because I am beautiful and that my favorite thing to do is get my hair cut! The girls also went to Penrods nursery and picked out some flowers to pot. Normally I am pretty intense when I chose my flower pots and spend waaaay too much money and time trying to make them look just right. Turns out I have taught my girls well, because they picked out beautiful choices and did a great job coordinating them in the pots. (I know Andy helped too!) We had second Sunday lunch at my house after church and got the great news that my SIL and BIL are having a baby in December. God is so good. Kate is thrilled to have another cousin to share a December birthday with.  It was such a great day...such a really great day.

Jane Preschool Gymnastics

Pictures from Jane's last day of preschool gymnastics! I am so thankful I got to take the day off to attend. The class demonstrated all the skills they ahve learned this year. Jane got a medal, ribbons, flowers, and even won first place in the "bridge hold" competition! Stellar Day. Bittersweet too as this is our last little girl to attend Joyful Noise preschool. The ladies there have taught our girls with such a strong cirriculum of loving and learning! We are forever indebted to Ms Keri, Ms Ann, Ms Lynda, Ms Samantha and Ms Amy for helping our girls be the great kids they are today.
Jane woke up with no school today. She was totally bummed. We tell her she has two weeks until Kindergarten summer school starts...."How many sleeps is that?" Excited for this little girl to get to do some big girl stuff finally. Hope it is all she wants it to be.

Love Haiti

We started the Haiti Jar project in our house back in February. Now the whole church is doing it with us! So proud to see a family project become a church family mission. Kate is shown standing with some members of the Haiti mission team. The pictures hanging behind them are the kiddos we are trying to get enrolled in school. Makes my heart so happy. Kate got to stand at the table, explain what the project is all about, and show off our family Haiti Jar as an example. We are almost to our goal of saving enough money for a Haitian child to go to school for a whole year!

Kate

Kate finally found a Mcdonalds worker that knows what EXTRA pickles means!

She could do this for hours. Wins every contest in class.... Hands Heads down.

Children's Mental Health Week

Today is the first day of Children's Mental Health Week and we are celebrating it BIG at Tri-County. I put together goodie bags for all the kiddos that come in for appointments this week and we are hoping to spread the love to around 150 kids! The baggies have water bottles and crystal light packets, fruit snacks, yo-yos, CheezIt snacks, bouncy balls, sidewalk chalk and stickers in them. So far the kids love it. Turns out I love giving things away.

Waterboy

This sprinkler system makes my husband SO very happy.
The fact that it has rained so much makes our bank account very happy.
I have to admit, we feel pretty uptown having these sprinklers.
Such a luxury.

Amelia is 2!!

My sweet niece Amelia turned 2!
such a cutie.
Love that she is talking. Love that she is funny. Love that she remembers who we are (and says our names in greeting!) even when we don't see her as often as we would like. Love that she gets to spend some nights with us while her parents take a trip in July. Love that I have a niece.
