House is buzzing with activity...inside and out.

The house got painted on Sunday! It is a light gray and we are thrilled with the color. We are going against the grain by picking a light color compared to all the dark colored houses in the neighborhood. When the girls asked me "why?" I mistakenly said "I'm bringing sexy back...." You can imagine how many people they have repeated that comment to. It has also reminded us how much we loooove some Justin Timberlake.
We have a roof. Bring on the snow. see below...
Jane enjoyed the 17 minutes of snow yesterday.

Isn't she lovely.....

Isn't she won-der-ful? Tess had a piano and vocal recital this past Sunday. When she sings she lights up the stage. When she plays the piano she makes me tear up. Somedays it is a struggle to get her to practice, but the results are awesome, even to her. She had complete strangers seeking her out after the recital to compliment her. I heard one woman tell her she was gifted musically and that she hoped Tess would continue to use her talent for the rest of her life. *sigh* I stood back and listened, and later asked Tess how that made her feel to hear someone, that wasn't biologically required to tell her she did great, say such nice things. "It feels weird, mom"
weird=good, I think.
So proud of my girl. She is a natural when it comes to performing. She loves to sing. She does not love the piano, but plays it like she does...so I will have to be content with that.

She just keeps on being funny.....

Yet another funny Jane-ism from this morning. I would have added it onto yesterday's post, but the four people that actually read this blog have already read it.
I was getting dressed, standing in my underwear, when Jane walked into the bedroom. She looked at me, said "nice boobs, mom" and walked right on out. While I am pretty sure she was simply referring to the patterned bra I was wearing, I am going to take the compliment for what she said.

THIS child

This child refuses to wear pants, wanting to only wear skirts or dresses.
This child likes to incorporate the words underwear, fart, or booty into any conversation.
This child managed to download the "Catholic One" app onto my phone and now I get the daily readings.
This child likes to listen to "Mix 33" on the radio and knows many of the lyrics. Unfortunately.
This child wants butter with bread for breakfast most mornings.
This child can fart and burp on command, thinks The Three Stooges are hysterical, and loves to say "It's ON like Donkey Kong!"
This child said she is thankful for "my daddy's big stinky feet" on her Thanksgiving leaf at preschool. (At that age her sisters were thankful for their parents, and stuffed animals, and God, and their grandmas, and sunshine)
This child's preschool director said "Jane is a really funny kid...like, waaay funnier than most."
This child's parents have been saying that for years.

We need a roof by Friday, and THEN winter can start anytime.

I am anxiously awaiting the porch to get put on the front
Driving from the north
Drive by photo taken by Tess of the back side of the house.
The roof seems gimormous to me.

Go Vote!

Four out of five people in our house are voting for Barack Obama in tomorrow's election. The lone Romney supporter was sent to bed without any supper! That's Democracy 2012 in our house! haha
We also noticed that the pretty colors on "Democracy Plaza" just happen to be KU colors! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWKS, GO KU! and Barack Obama....
