Oreos

After driving with every muscle clenched for an hour on Tuesday, we finally got to my parents house safe and sound. We had been to Lees Summit for Uncle Don's funeral....what a day we will never forget. The blizzard kept many from the funeral, but it still was well attended by family and close friends. The drive home was holy moley bad, so I must give kudos to my man who did an awesome job negotiating Snowmageddon, as it was fondly called on the radio.

When we picked up the girls, Andy announced we were going to go home "the back way, just for FUN".....in other words, weave through the subdivision on roads that had not seen a snow plow yet.
The girls cheered in delight!
Kate shouts "Dad, Let's go do Oreos!"
what?!?!?
She meant "donuts" which is what her dad loves to do with the girls when there is snow. He takes them out in the truck, up to the school parking lot, and thrills them with his ability to make the truck slip and slide and spin, seemingly out of control....just in time for him to save the day and make it safely stop.
As we wind through the subdivision, Andy tries with all his might to get my Honda Pilot to fish tail or slide around turns, but it just won't do it.
"Mom's car is too safe, girls! It won't let me slide around!"
"Aww! Mom, why do you have to have such a safe car?"

Safety can be such a buzz kill.
