lower braces with rubber bands that connect the end brackets to brackets on her top back teeth. it's a pretty tight stretch and she can't open her mouth very wide yet. We have to change the rubber bands three times a day

There is a metal expander across the roof of her mouth that we have to "expand" every day!

My beautiful girl's new bling

so far she talks weird, has excessive saliva, can't open her mouth very wide, gets food and liquid stuck above the expander, chokes easily cause she can't swallow the same, eats mega-slow, and slurps the extra spit about every 3-4 minutes. This is kind of a big deal that will become less of a problem every day. I hope.
